Shireen Ritchie 1949 - 2012

Baroness Ritchie

Shireen Ritchie (Baroness Ritchie of Brompton), whose life has been cut so tragically short, was one of the original founders of Women2Win. She remained a great supporter of the campaign to get more Conservative women elected to Parliament.

Shireen was an inspiration and spent a huge amount of time and effort to encouraging women to come forward, to get on to the candidates list and personally advised helped most if not all the new generation of women MPs on their journey into Parliament.

The quality of the new MPs, both male and female remain a large part of Shireen’s legacy and many people in Conservative politics owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude. Women2Win will be redoubling its efforts to continue her and our work, as a tribute to her and in her memory.
